Deep Blue

“Quantum mechanics reveals to us that the more we look at the detail of the world, the less constant it is. The world is not made up of tiny pebbles. It is a world of vibrations, a continuous fluctuation, a microscopic swarming of fleeting microevents.”

― Carlo Rovelli, Reality Is Not What It Seems: The Journey to Quantum Gravity

Deep Blue explores a narrative of memory, heartbreak, and the quantum universe within a digital chess game played between estranged lovers. Presenting the game as a symbol for power exchange and dramaturgy within intimate relationships, Deep Blue is part of an ongoing body of work located at the crossroads of magic and quantum theory, where past, present, and future are entangled and simultaneously occurring.
