All Time Is No Time

All Time Is No Time is a photographic series created during the Covid-19 pandemic. This work utilizes 35mm film that expired in late 2005 and early 2006, a few months after Hurricane Katrina made landfall in New Orleans.

This image is of the Pontalba building at the intersection of Decatur St. and St. Peter at Jackson Square. On the second floor balcony of the Pontalba building, the cast-iron railing shows the monogram of Baroness Micaela Almonester Pontalba, who commissioned the construction of this building in the 1840s. Affixed to the cast iron railing there are two styles of tattered silver 2020 New Year’s Eve decorations. On the red brick wall behind one of the silver 2020 decorations is an analog clock displaying the time 5:15. On the first floor of the Pontalba building there is a restaurant with windows covered by repurposed plywood boards that are marked by black mildew flood lines.
